Head of Platform & DevOps
About RedCloud
The global supply chain is broken—creating a $2 trillion inventory gap where essential consumer goods fail to reach the people who need them. Brands miss sales, distributors mismanage stock, and retailers face empty shelves. The result? Higher prices, slower growth, and lost opportunity across the board.
RedCloud is fixing this. Our RedAI digital trading platform, bulk and retail trading exchanges connect key parts of the supply chain—enabling bulk inventory exchange, streamlined digital payments, and generating vast quantities of aggregated market data. By applying AI and machine learning techniques, we deliver predictive market insight and trading recommendations straight back to the trading environment—facilitating smarter everyday business decisions for our customers, from factory to warehouse to store.
Headquartered in London, RedCloud became a publicly listed company on Nasdaq (RCT) in March 2025. With a diverse team spanning many nationalities and operations across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and Latin America. We’re building a more connected and efficient global trade network. Our AI labs are busy exploring the next generation of smart AI agents and deeper FMCG market intelligence for the benefit of our customers across a growing operational footprint.
The Role
As Head of Platform & DevOps you will own the reliability, scalability, and evolution of RedCloud's global infrastructure. You'll lead a talented Platform & DevOps (CloudOps) team, shaping the architecture that powers markets across multiple regions and enabling every engineering squad to ship with confidence.
This is a hands-on leadership role you'll set direction, make key architectural decisions, and be the person other engineers look to when things get hard.
What You'll Do
Platform Architecture & Reliability
• Own the architecture of our global cloud infrastructure across one or more providers
• Drive FinOps practices to keep costs controlled without sacrificing resilience
• Ensure all infrastructure is captured as code and repeatable across every market deployment
• Partner with Security to embed protection into architecture from the ground up
• Manage technical debt transparently, flagging risk to senior leadership when business pressure pushes it higher
CI/CD & Developer Enablement
• Own the CI/CD stack — making it fast, reliable, and easy for every engineer to use
• Integrate automated testing and security tooling into pipelines
• Champion deployment strategies (blue/green, canary) that protect production
Observability
• Own the observability platform so engineering knows about issues before customers do
• Ensure tooling is intuitive and helps squads investigate production issues independently
Incident Response & Support
• Lead swift resolution of P0/P1 incidents with clear communication to senior stakeholders
• Ensure the team has coverage across all business days, year-round
People Leadership
• Hire, mentor, and grow engineers at all levels including building succession pipelines
• Foster psychological safety, a no-blame culture, and genuine career development
• Run a healthy team: ceremonies, feedback loops, and protecting engineers from unreasonable external pressure
What We're Looking For
We care more about what you can do and how you think than where you've been. That said, the role will suit someone who brings:
• Proven experience leading a Platform, DevOps, or Infrastructure function in a fast-growing tech environment
• Deep hands-on knowledge of cloud architecture (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and IaC (Terraform, Pulumi, etc.)
• Strong background in CI/CD tooling and release engineering
• Experience with observability stacks (Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, or similar)
• Track record of building and developing high-performing engineering teams
• Ability to communicate technical risk clearly to non-technical stakeholders
• Comfort operating across time zones in a distributed, global organisation
It would be a bonus if you also have experience with FinOps, ISO 27001/SOC 2 compliance environments, or scaling infrastructure in emerging markets but these aren't dealbreakers.
Even if you don’t meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply. Your unique experiences and perspectives might be just what we’re looking for.
